TCL launches AR glasses RayNeo X2 at CES 2023

On January 4, 2023, Chinese electronics brand TCL has launched a pair of augmented-reality glasses at CES 2023 called RayNeo X2, with features including language translation and GPS navigation.

In terms of appearance, RayNeo X2 adopts a simple wireless all-in-one design, and the overall shape is similar to ordinary glasses, which can meet the needs of daily wear. In terms of display optics, RayNeo X2's MicroLED full-color light engine is capable of presenting 16.77 million colors and 100,000:1 contrast ratio, and the image brightness coupled by the light waveguide lens is up to 1000 nits, which can take into account the needs of different indoor and outdoor scenes.

In terms of application scenarios, the fully upgraded RayNeo X2 is able to combine information and reality in daily life, entertainment, office and other scenarios, creating a new perspective and lifestyle for users.

Take the translation function as an example, when talking face-to-face, RayNeo X2's directional radio MIC will accurately obtain the words of the target of gaze, and automatically detect and translate the conversation. The whole process first realizes the visual perception, localization and sound filtering collection of the conversation object, then carries out speech recognition and calculation, and then converts the calculation results into visible visual information added to the 3D space at the specified location. The complete AR process of perception, calculation, and then to the integration of reality and imagination. When reading foreign language books, RayNeo X2 can quickly identify and translate the text at the fingertip location, breaking the key barrier to language learning, and likewise opening up more efficient and convenient communication in business communication, travel and shopping, and digital socialization contexts.

RayNeo X2's visual SLAM (Instant Location and Map Construction) and gesture recognition enable intelligent GPS navigation. During movement, RayNeo X2's screen information can follow the user's journey and update in real time, facilitating quick positioning and interaction. In addition, RayNeo X2 is equipped with a 16-megapixel HD camera that supports still photos, video and time-lapse photography to record life's exciting moments.

It is reported that RayNeo X2 will be available in mass production in the first quarter of 2023.
